machine made woven rug - 60% polypropylene 40% polyester
The Venetian terrazzo floor traces its origins to ancient Greece and
Rome, but owes its fame to 15th-century Venice, where this distinctive
version of mosaic floor became highly popular.
The Calligaris
Studio drew inspiration from the original floor, replicating the texture
for its TERRAZZO rug, in which the warm beige base is enriched by a
varied assortment of “tiles” of different sizes and colours. The
startling effect of chromatic disorder turns the rug into the home’s
distinctive element.
TERRAZZO is machine-made and both the fleece and the structure are made
of synthetic fibers (polyester and polypropylene), but with special
ultra-resistant processing that yields a “hand-made” effect.
